Our 50 full time staff comprise of a highly competent Operations Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor and his team, Project Managers, HR / H&S manager, Office Staff and tradespeople specialising in either commercial or residential construction. We focus very hard, reviewing and monitoring performance regularly to make sure we have the finest team of staff, and the finest performances. We invest in and value our staff input so that they can feel that being part of AJ Scott Construction is a career, not just a job.
John is a qualified LBP builder and carpenter with 20 years in the construction industry. He has extensive experience with small and very large commercial and residential projects in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
John aims to give all our clients a great building experience when building with AJ Scott. He is an honest straight-shooter with a passion for construction and believes in keeping things simple.
Senior Quantity Surveyor
Wayne is relatively new to the team and he brings with him over 14 years of experience from working in the Irish / UK / NZ Construction Industries. He is a highly motivated, reliant and ambitious professional with a proven track record of working within tight time and budget constraints on large development projects worth in excess of €280million.
He is a strong team player and adds to the team in terms of the skills he brings with him. Wayne’s financial knowledge coupled with his technical experience brings an added element to the AJ Scott team. He’s also a sports nut who refurbishes furniture in his spare time.
Paul has advanced his career over the past 40 years’ in the construction industry in residential, commercial and industrial projects. Paul has had significant experience and has become a respected team leader on a number of major projects in Christchurch over that time. Paul carried out a carpentry apprenticeship in Christchurch on high end residential projects
He holds a certificate in LBP Carpentry and has held senior positions especially in the commercial sector on a variety of projects. He enjoys his golf and always up for a challenge.
HR and H/S Manager
Desiree has 10 years experience in Human Resources and holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Development and Strategic Management. She started her career as a recruiter for the military and then moved into Human Resources Management in the electrical and construction industries.
Desiree has been involved in Health and Safety for the last few years and has taken a dual role at AJ Scott, to maintain the Health and Safety of our company. She is actively involved in multiple sports activities, volunteers in the community and travels when she has the opportunity.
Jason has 20 years experience in the construction industry and has a wealth of experience in all scales of residential, commercial and industrial projects. Jason has significant experience in the education, health and production related sectors.
He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering as well as LBP Carpentry and LBP Site 2 qualifications. Jason is very clinical and methodical and has a passion for American muscle cars and snow skiing.
Bruce has 24 years’ experience in both in NZ & UK construction industries. He has a broad range of industry knowledge gained by working on and delivering anything from high spec residential, large scale multi-unit housing blocks, commercial and industrial projects. Bruce has extensive experience in the education sector completing several school redevelopments and has worked on several multi-story buildings.
He is a qualified carpenter and has a diploma of Construction Management gained whilst in the UK. Bruce has an eye for detail and strives for excellence to deliver quality builds for our clients.
Away from work Bruce enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors, walking, camping and days skiing the Canterbury slopes.
